Mudplugging
We lay out a series of courses on a slippery, grassy slope which get progressively steeper and more challenging. Using specially built Sporting Trials Cars your guests attempt to drive through the courses without stopping, or incurring any penalties by touching the course markers.
The problem is the markers are barely wider than the car and the controls are a challenge in themselves!
The cars are built to a set of RAC regulations that were originally based on production cars of the 1920s. The original competition was based on testing the reliability of cars, hence the name "trials cars". The controls are the same as a normal, manual car with one exception.
The accelerator and clutch are in the traditional position, but the brakes are two levers beside the driver that are operated by hand. Using these the driver can tighten the turning circle of the car, or correct wheelspin to maintain forward motion.
After an instruction and practice session the competition commences with the guests divided into teams of 2/3 with their own car and instructor. They take turns to drive and passenger each other through the courses.
This is an ideal “bonding” type of event, as guests need to work together to be successful, and better still, it’s obvious to all when they are not! It’s a “level playing field”, ie. very few people will have experienced anything like it before, so everybody starts at the bottom – literally!!
The great advantage of this as an outdoor activity is its weatherproof nature, in fact the wetter the better! (We will provide waterproof overalls!)
Clay Pigeon Shooting
To include, professional instruction, plenty of practice and a competition over several stands.
We use electronic traps that are very flexible in the type of bird we can simulate.
Even seasoned shooters will be impressed and they will enjoy our slightly less formal approach to the traditional shooting academies.
Honda Pilot
High speed off-road buggies in which you complete a course against the stop watch. A few laps practice, followed by a run against the clock. They are powerful, rear wheel drive and a lot of fun, and the winner is usually less than a second ahead!
